Audio-visual producer · Conservation storyteller
Ol Pejeta Conservancy · ALLDAY STUDIOS · Nairobi, Kenya
Dylan Habil is a Kenyan filmmaker, documentary photographer, cultural historian and media strategist. He cuts his teeth on telling authentic and compelling stories, with a visual style that is bold and gritty. He is an audio-visual content producer at Ol Pejeta Conservancy — home to the world's last northern white rhinos.
As Founder of ALLDAY STUDIOS, he builds platforms for independent East African filmmakers — producing social-impact documentaries, experimental work, and consulting for NGOs navigating complex media landscapes.
He is an African Conservation Voices — Media Lab fellow with Jackson Wild and the African Wildlife Foundation, Emerging Artists fellow with Africa No Filter, grantee of East African Stories: My Town, My Life, My Lens by the Scottish Documentary Institute and Docubox, and was shortlisted for Top 35 Under 35 Kenya media category 2021 by The Youth Agenda in conjunction with the Ministry of ICT, Innovations and Youth Affairs.
Zacharia Mutai as he balances fatherhood with his bond to the last two northern white rhinos, revealing a tender, deeply human view of care, loss, and endurance on the front lines of a crucial mission.
"What comes to mind when you think of home?" — A short documentary taking viewers on an immersive journey through Ol Pejeta's sprawling habitats, with a key focus on the critically endangered rhinoceros and the adverse effects of climate change. Exploring the intricate relationship between this iconic African habitat and the people, following dedicated efforts to protect these majestic creatures as a testament for climate action and co-existence.
A short documentary of the love between Zacharia Mutai, his family and the last two northern white rhinos, which he has to take care of for ten months in a year. Not majorly an extinction story — but a love story between a man and five ladies who mean so much to his life. It is evidently an appreciation to a father who strives to uplift his family. A celebration of an everyday hero.
A domestic drama and experimental film sitting with a young lady as she meditates coast-to-coast sequences of her relationship with her partner. A heartfelt capture of a slice of life, filled with high spirit and action. A true depiction of what being in a relationship truly is — being on one team despite the ups and downs. Winner, Best Sound Design — Filamu International Film Festival.
An animated series documenting African folktales — preserving oral heritage through contemporary visual language.
A conservation-driven story tracing the fight to protect wildlife in the face of encroachment and indifference.
A Kenyan drama TV series of 8 episodes portraying life and love as you know it — messy and heartfelt. The first independently produced TV series to be shot in Ultra HD 4K in Kenya. Produced by Avant Films.
